United States

Headquartered in North Chicago, Illinois, AbbVie US offers exciting opportunities to develop and market advanced therapies and solutions to address some of the world’s most complex and serious diseases. North Chicago is also home to our R&D Center of Excellence and our Operations and Commercial teams. The variety of roles available are endless—from analysts and scientists to strategists and marketers.

AbbVie is expanding its oncology hub on the West Coast, with three sites in the San Francisco Bay Area (Redwood City, South San Francisco and Sunnyvale) focused on the discovery and development of novel oncology therapies. More than 1,000 AbbVie scientists, clinicians and product developers with strong entrepreneurial roots work across these three sites. They combine their expertise in immuno-oncology, stem cells and cell-signaling with their knowledge of bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) and covalent-inhibitor technologies to discover and develop novel cancer treatments.

AbbVie also has a hub in Massachusetts employing nearly 900 in the state. The AbbVie Bioresearch Center in Worcester is home to biologics and immunology discovery, as well as biologics development and manufacturing. In 2016, we opened the 43,000-square-foot Foundational Neuroscience Center (FNC) in the Cambridge, Massachusetts biotech corridor. There, we’re researching the biological mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative diseases.

Latin America

Our Latin America region is a robust part of AbbVie, divided into two sub-regions plus three stand-alone countries. Latin America’s Region North consists of the Andes sub-region (Colombia, Peru and Ecuador), Venezuela, along with Central America and the Caribbean. Our Region South consists of Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. The stand-alone countries are Mexico, Brazil and Puerto Rico. Latin America also has three state-of-the-art operations facilities in Puerto Rico. Because of the rapid development in the region, our Latin America region offers a wide variety of roles and opportunities.

Western Europe and Canada

Western Europe and Canada includes 19 countries, each with its own unique workforce. This region represents our second largest employee population and offers a wide range of career opportunities. We’ve included Canada as part of this group because its health care system has many similarities to other countries in the region.

Our integrated facility in Ludwigshafen, Germany, is our largest R&D facility outside the United States. With 1,900 employees, it carries out every step of drug research, development and production. In addition, the region houses four state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities—three in Ireland and one in Italy.

Eastern Europe, Middle East and
Africa

Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa represents three regions: Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), Central Eastern Europe and Middle East and Africa. Because this group spans 12 time zones and many cultural differences, working in the region offers unique opportunities in a diverse, fast-paced environment.

Japan, Asia and Pacific

Our Japan, Asia and Pacific region spans two continents and 14 locations. The regional headquarters is located in Singapore, which is home to regional and corporate services and a new facility focused on small molecule and biologics manufacturing. Tokyo is also home to one of our global research centers.
